Which Valais resort for your stay?
Our six resorts in Valais are not alike: here is how to choose according to your stay, and what we actually offer in each.
Crans-Montana, for a family chalet or a stay without a car. On the Haut-Plateau, at 1,500 m and facing south: a three-bedroom semi-detached chalet for six, pets welcome, a studio for four with access to a heated indoor pool, less than 400 m from the funicular, and two two-bedroom apartments for four in Lens, on the quiet side of the plateau.
Nendaz, for family skiing on the 410 km of slopes of the 4 Vallées announced by the tourist offices. Two two-bedroom apartments: ski-in ski-out for six, with jacuzzi, sauna and counter-current pool in the residence, or for four, with a panoramic balcony and covered parking. In summer, the bisses take over.
Ovronnaz, for a wellness break as a couple or a small family. Our two apartments for four are five and about ten minutes on foot from the Ovronnaz thermal baths; in winter, a family ski area of 32 km of slopes.
Verbier, for big skiing across the 4 Vallées up to Mont-Fort and an international atmosphere, in winter and during the Verbier Festival in July. An apartment for four with a panoramic terrace and indoor parking, and two more properties, a chalet and an apartment, for the 2026-2027 winter season.
Zermatt, for the Matterhorn and a car-free village. Our renovated mezzanine apartment sleeps six, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, five minutes on foot from the centre, up 80 outdoor steps with no lift. Two more apartments open in Zermatt for the 2026-2027 winter season.
Veysonnaz, for the 4 Vallées from a small, friendly village, known for the piste de l'Ours, a quarter of an hour from Sion by car. Three properties open there for the 2026-2027 winter season: a chalet, a studio and a property sleeping six. They cannot be booked yet: write to us to be told when they open.
Villars-sur-Ollon, finally, is not in Valais but in the Vaud Alps: that is where our largest property is, a chalet for eight, and we also manage five apartments there.
By train
Arriving by train through the Rhône valley
Four stations in the Rhône valley serve our resorts: Martigny, Sion, Sierre and Visp. Direct trains reach them from Geneva Airport, Geneva and Lausanne; from Bern, Basel and Zurich, direct trains run to Visp via Thun.
Martigny, for Verbier: regional train to Le Châble in 25 minutes, with a departure every 30 minutes, then the Le Châble-Verbier gondola, part of the public transport network.
Sion, for Nendaz and Veysonnaz: PostBus services leave from the station; to Veysonnaz they run every day, in 30 to 40 minutes depending on the route. For Ovronnaz, PostBus services climb from Riddes, a few minutes from Sion by regional train, or from Leytron.
Sierre, for Crans-Montana: the funicular climbs to the plateau in 13 minutes and arrives less than 400 m from our studio. The chalet and the Lens apartments, which have parking, are more practical by car.
Visp, for Zermatt: the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn runs up to the car-free village; by car, you park in Täsch and finish with the rail shuttle, in 12 minutes.
The SBB online timetable is the reference for your day of travel; our arrival instructions, sent before your stay, then describe the last stretch to the property.
Tourist tax
The tourist tax changes from one municipality to the next
In Valais, the tourist tax is not a cantonal matter: the canton sets the framework, then each municipality sets its own regulations, rates and collection. For our properties, that means Crans-Montana, Icogne or Lens on the Haut-Plateau, Nendaz, whose regulation distinguishes two zones, Leytron for Ovronnaz, Val de Bagnes for Verbier, and Zermatt. In Veysonnaz, the tourist area spans three municipalities, Veysonnaz, Nendaz and Sion: what counts is the municipality where the property stands.
For you, the rule is simple: the tax is collected for each night, the amount is shown on the property page before you book, and there is nothing to do on site. Each resort page names the applicable municipal regulation; our tourist tax pages for each resort, written for owners, give the details.
Holiday or long term
Holiday rental or year-round rental?
Our properties in Valais are holiday rentals, booked on the dates open in their calendar, with linen, end-of-stay cleaning and a team you can reach during your stay. We do not manage year-round leases: for a main residence, letting agencies and property managers are the ones to contact, a different job from ours.
For a stay of several weeks, a ski season or a summer, write to us with your dates: we will tell you honestly whether one of our properties can host you.
